The growth conditions of Scots pine in the Steppe region weaken the overall physiological state of pine forests, making them more susceptible to needle-eating insects. The pine sawfly is considered one of the most dangerous pests of pine forests in Ukraine and Europe. This highly adaptable species thrives in both humid and dry conditions. It poses a particular threat to Scots pine plantations up to 25-30 years old. To protect forest plantations in Donetsk region, specialists from the Supervision and Forecasting Department (headed by T.V.
