In recent times, the State Enterprise "Kharkivlisozakhyst" has received numerous requests from citizens and organizations to identify plant diseases. Specialists from the Forest Phytopathology Department promptly respond to these requests, conducting specialized phytopathological surveys of forest nurseries, greenhouses, forest crops, ornamental plants, and examining plantations and wood materials.

In recent years, sawfly larvae have caused significant damage to pine plantations in eastern Ukraine. The growth conditions of Scots pine in the Steppe region weaken the overall physiological state of pine forests, making them more susceptible to needle-eating insects. The red-headed sawfly (RHS) is considered one of the most dangerous species among them.

The pine sawfly is considered one of the most dangerous pests of pine forests in Ukraine and Europe. This highly adaptable species thrives in both humid and dry conditions. On December 16, 2019, a scientific-practical seminar was held at the Sumy Forestry Enterprise of the Sumy Regional Forestry and Hunting Administration, dedicated to the issue of drying of ash and birch stands in the forests of the Sumy region.

As part of the action "The Future of the Forest in Your Hands" by the State Forestry Agency of Ukraine, specialists from Kharkivlisozakhyst conducted knowledge lessons about the forests of Ukraine, particularly in the Kharkiv region. Students were introduced to typical representatives of the region's flora and fauna, as well as the main tasks and work of the State Specialized Forestry Protection Enterprise "Kharkivlisozakhyst." The aim was to promote ecological and forestry awareness, as well as forest protection.

The tradition of celebrating Forest Workers' Day was officially established in the USSR in the 1980s, and over time, it has become a national holiday for many countries, including Ukraine. By Presidential Decree No. 356/93 of August 28, 1993, Ukraine designated the celebration of Forest Workers' Day on the third Sunday of September. This year, the holiday falls on September 20.
