On December 16, 2019, a scientific-practical seminar was held at the Sumy Forestry Enterprise of the Sumy Regional Forestry and Hunting Administration, dedicated to the issue of drying of ash and birch stands in the forests of the Sumy region.
Forest Drying Seminar
The seminar was attended by more than 20 specialists, including representatives of scientific institutions, forestry enterprises, and environmental organizations. Participants inspected forest areas with signs of massive drying, collected samples to determine causes, and discussed invasive pests and diseases threatening the region's forests.
Following the seminar, a commission was established involving experts and government representatives to conduct further research and develop recommendations for managing weakened forest stands.
