Specialists from the Forest Phytopathology Department promptly respond to these requests, conducting specialized phytopathological surveys of forest nurseries, greenhouses, forest crops, ornamental plants, and examining plantations and wood materials.

They also provide methodological assistance to state forestry enterprises and other forest users in diagnosing forest diseases and preventing outbreaks. When samples of soil, wood, planting material, or ornamental plants are received, experts from the Forest Protection Biolaboratory conduct laboratory and microbiological analyses to identify disease types, their development stage, and the risk of spreading to adjacent forest stands.

Additionally, the biolaboratory staff analyze wood samples to detect nematodes, stem pests, and diseases spread by xylophages. Recommendations for controlling plant diseases and preventing pathogen outbreaks are always provided.
