Specialists of the State Specialized Forest Protection Enterprise "Kharkivlisozakhyst" conducted a repeated tick control treatment in the perennial green plantations of Kharkiv using the aerosol technology GUARD-MN and the SOLO 450 hand sprayer. As in the initial treatment, the preparation "AKTOFIT" was used with the addition of geranium essential oil (which has a repellent effect on ixodid ticks). "AKTOFIT" selectively affects different arthropods – it is non-toxic to spiders, bedbugs, parasitic wasps, ants, ground beetles, and others.
Avermectins, after their rapid impact on harmful insects, do not accumulate in the soil but break down into sugars.
The neurotoxic mechanism of avermectins has fundamentally different effects on warm-blooded animals and insects of the Insecta class. For plants, animals, and humans, avermectins, including avermectin C as the main component of the preparation, are safe. Additionally, avermectins have translaminar properties – the ability to penetrate plant tissues to a certain depth without spreading through the vascular system.
