In October last year, the State Forest Resources Agency of Ukraine, together with the Ministry of Forestry of the Republic of Belarus, appealed to the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) for assistance in implementing a project aimed at preventing and mitigating the consequences of forest dieback. In 2017, an FAO mission visited the Republic of Belarus, where they studied the origin and dynamics of this phenomenon.
FAO Representatives Visit Kyiv Forests
On February 26, 2018, representatives from FAO visited the Ivankiv Forestry Enterprise (DP "Ivankivskyi lisgosp") to assess the situation with forest dieback in Kyiv region. The experts met with local specialists and discussed factors contributing to the deterioration of forests.
