Participation in International Seminars

During the plenary session, reports were presented by phytopathologist Dr. Artur James Downer from the University of California and a representative of the International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) on "Arboriculture in California – Work Experience" and "The Impact of Drought on Urban Greenery." Additionally, practicing phytopathologist-arborist Ihor Singer spoke on "Planning Urban Arboriculture Work in Modern Ukraine," Professor Anatolii Hoichuk discussed "The Phytosanitary Condition of Ukraine’s Forests and Ways to Induce Demutation Processes," and Associate Professor Oleksandr Kurdiuk presented "Arboriculture as a Component of Dendrological Support for Urban Greening."

Throughout the seminar, there was an active open dialogue among scientists, landscape designers, and arborists, emphasizing the relevance of the issues discussed and the need for effective solutions for forestry and landscape professionals.

As a result of the discussions and presentations, a preliminary resolution was drafted, highlighting the importance of arboriculture as a crucial element in plant care and health management. Participants advocated for organizational measures to establish a professional school for tree care and protection. Additionally, they proposed the creation of a monitoring center to study plant reactions to climate and environmental changes, following international examples, and strengthening information dissemination through mass media.

To prevent the complete loss of unique endemic plant species of Ukraine’s dendroflora, seminar participants agreed to submit an official appeal to the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of Ukraine, summarizing the key provisions of the resolution adopted during the seminar.
