Someone famous once said, "Learning is light, and ignorance is darkness." On December 23, the head of the Supervision and Forecasting Department of DSLP "Kharkivlisozakhyst," T.V. Kucheriavenko, conducted a methodological seminar for the forest protection team of the "Krasnograd Forestry Enterprise." The event was initiated by the forester of the Natalinske Forestry, V.V. Zibarov, and supported by Deputy Director O.M. Boltushkin. The seminar was held in the form of a dialogue and active communication, addressing a number of problems in forest stands.
Forest Protection Training
The seminar included a lecture on timely detection methods for pathological processes in forests and an overview of the development and characteristics of diseases affecting pine and deciduous stands. Special attention was given to root and pine fungi, polypores, and other pathogens causing root, trunk, and stem rot in deciduous trees. The discussion also covered major bark beetle infestations and the biological development of various pine sawfly species. The event took place at the Krasnograd Museum just before the New Year holidays. A concert followed the lecture, adding a festive mood to the gathering. We hope that other forestry enterprises in the Kharkiv region and surrounding areas will also organize and conduct similar training sessions for forest protection staff to improve forest health and safety.
