Dear colleagues, forestry workers!
We draw your attention to the mass flight of pine looper moths. The excessively high air temperature at the beginning of the growing season this year has led to changes in the phenological development periods of many harmful forest insects.
Currently, the forest protection service in Donetsk region (NPP "Sviati Hory", outbreak area about 2.5 thousand hectares) and Kharkiv region (Kupiansk Forestry, area about 350 hectares) report active moth flights.
In this regard, it is urgently necessary to inspect pine stands that meet the criteria for forming primary outbreak areas of the pine looper and those where outbreaks have occurred in previous years. The primary foci of this pest are pine stands aged 40-60 years, with high density and located within forest masses.
