In May 2025, an official delegation from Ukraine, which included representatives of SSE "Kharkivlisozakhyst", visited the Republic of Poland. The trip took place from May 20 to 23 at the Forest Education Center in Jedlina-Leszno with the support of the General Directorate of State Forests of Poland. The main purpose of the visit was to exchange professional experience in forest protection, familiarize with the organization of forestry activities in Poland, and establish further cooperation between institutions.
On the first day, the Polish side presented a modern model of forest management that combines strict regulation of procedures with digital solutions for effective management. Significant attention was paid to forest protection from pests, forecasting their spread, rules for applying plant protection products, and the use of aviation equipment in emergency situations. The functioning of the forest threat monitoring system was demonstrated, including decision-making mechanisms based on analytical data, treatment databases, interactive maps of abiotic factors impact, and digital calendars with regulatory framework integration. A separate discussion block covered quarantine threats, invasive species, and actions in case of their detection.
The Ukrainian delegation, in turn, presented several reports on the current state of forestry in Ukraine. In particular, the structure and activities of SE "Forests of Ukraine", the impact of military actions on Ukraine's ecosystem and biocoenosis, as well as the practical experience of SSE "Kharkivlisozakhyst" in biological forest protection, including the use of the ant beetle Thanasimus formicarius.
