Treatment of green plantations against bark beetles - Ips acuminatus and Ips sexdentatus - continues in Kharkiv.

Specialists from the State Specialized Forest Protection Enterprise "Kharkivlisozakhyst" in cooperation with the Municipal Enterprise "Kharkivzelenbud" are actively working on treating the city's green spaces. The goal is to protect trees from bark beetles and extend their lifespan.

For the treatment, the GARD-MN aerosol unit is used, which allows for efficient and safe application of products over large areas. Only biological preparations and mineral supplements are used, which are safe for plants, people, and animals.

Before starting work, experts conducted a thorough inspection of trees for mechanical damage and signs of bark beetle infestation. Only after diagnosis are the necessary protective measures determined.

The release of the predatory beetle Thanasimus formicarius is also planned, which is a natural enemy of these bark beetles.

The treatment has already been carried out in several locations, including the "Hryhorivskyi Bor" park and the "Sosnova Hirka" park. In the near future, work will continue in other green areas of Kharkiv.
